Why use Posh Pile mats?

Our mats will upgrade your car/truck interior by offering a thick, new, luxury look. They also protect your interior from grease, oil, dirt, road tar, and even wear and tear. 5th Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway have waterproof backings that protect your interior from moisture. High quality carpeted floor mats represent one of the easiest upgrades a car owner can make to their vehicles.

What is a heel pad?

A heel pad is a rubber, vinyl, or woven pad designed to sit on the floor under the drivers heel to protect the mat while driving. The motion of accelerating, braking, and deploying the clutch can very quickly wear out carpets or floor mats as the driver’s heel digs into the pile. Posh Pile refuses to use less expensive vinyl or PVC pads, instead opting for the highest quality and longest lasting woven nylon material.

Why are sewn edges important?

Sewn edges quite simply complete the look of the mat. Inexpensive mats use taped edges. Posh Pile uses only sewn edges for a quality OEM look.

How do I clean my Posh Pile mats?

Use any quality automotive grade carpet cleaner. Our owner uses Meguiar’s Carpet and Upolstery Cleaner or Meguiar’s Quik Out on his own Posh Pile mats.

How often should carpeted floor mats be replaced?

Most car manufacturers require their suppliers to make mats that to last just 12 months. We find demanding car owners will replace their mats one year after they buy their new car because they want to keep their interior looking its very best. Less demanding owners will replace their mats in two years. Severe environments require more frequent replacement. The backing on the car mats has a huge impact on how long they last. Most aftermarket mats found in retailers use PVC backing. Most of the PVC is quite stiff and we have seen it crack in cold environments. PVC mats generally have a shorter service life than rubber backed mats. Posh Pile 5th Avenue uses only the highest quality thermo-plastic rubber for its high flexibility and long service life.

What is the quality of Posh Pile mats?

Posh Pile mats are designed to be of the very highest quality. We use only the highest quality UV and soil resistant pile, sewn edges, nylon heel pads, and quality backing materials. If it is not good enough for our own beautiful cars, we will not put it in the Posh Pile line!

You have 3 types of Posh Pile car mats, what is the difference?

Our mats are designed to exceed the expectations of the majority of car owners.
• 5th Avenue is for the driver who wants the highest quality and most luxurious car mat.
• Stay Tuned is for the driver who wants the new technology hook & loop mat pioneered in Japan for high performance / better fuel economy. Because of this new backing material, Stay Tuned is 60% lighter than conventional car mats.
• Pacific Coast Highway is our full featured luxury mat, an amazingly affordable value for the price.

What is a high performance mat:

Stay Tuned is the first high performance mat in the aftermarket. In many Asian markets high performance Japanese new cars often come with hook & loop backing on their mats to save weight. Stay Tuned is the first aftermarket mat to offer this innovative technology.

One of the most Frequently asked questions in our industry is: Do I need universal or direct fit mats for my car?

The truthful answer is; it depends. The reasons it depends are:

*If you have a car with a floor mounted accelerator petal like a Mini or most BMW's, then you need a direct fit mat. (Over 80% of today's cars have the accelerator, brake petal, and clutch hangng from behind the dashboard so universal mats with the right 'cut' can fit most cars nicely).

*If you have a sports or supercar like a Mazda RX-8, a Porsche, or a Ferrari, then you need a direct fit mat because your car has either a very narrow or a very wide and usually extra long front floor pan.

*If you have a typical 2 or 4 door passenger car, more likely than not, a universal mat will fit your car and save you anywhere from 30-80% compared with the cost of a direct fit mat from a car dealer. (We know because we recently paid more than $220 for mats from the dealer for a prestigious German car and they nowhere near the quality the quality of a Posh Pile 5Th Avenue Mats).

How can you tell if Posh Pile mats will fit your car?

Posh Pile has an Application Guide on the website: www.poshpile.com that is updated constantly. At of this time, our universal mats fit over 80% of the cars tested.

While designing Posh Pile we conducted research on hundreds of cars by taking measurements of every aspect of the cars' floor pan including: pedal placement, cabin width and length, seat track, and much more. The result is a uniquely shaped mat that fits over 80% of all cars. Every Posh Pile mat is made with the highest quality material to ensure a luxurious appearance and comfort.  Please understand that universal mats are designed to find the majority of passenger cars; however in some instances they may be a bit narrower than the original factory mat.
